About Zasibel

Welcome to My Flexi Work | Life. I am Zasibel and I am going to share my journey towards financial freedom and also some steps you can take in order to uplift your potential financially while living life on your own terms.

We all want to achieve passive income, financial freedom and stability. But at the same time we also don’t want to sacrifice or give up on the things we love doing to get there. Well, I am going to walk you through some avenues by which you can achieve all this while you still enjoy the things you love most. I’m not saying you will get there overnight. Anything worth achieving takes time and patience. But what I do want to bring forth is that there are ways to improve your circumstances…you just need to be willing to take the first step.

My story

About MeGrowing up, I lived in a household that was always financially very tight. Although money was scarce my parents always made sure that we had what we needed and they instilled values of hard work, diligence and integrity. Although there were limitations in terms of what we could do, the ethics and values that my parents instilled in me led to my academic successes.

My parents always taught me that I needed a good education if I wanted to make good money and achieve success and happiness. This led me to studying a lot, and getting a number of certifications and qualifications. Whereas this did lead me to many opportunities, it did not lead me to a path where I could find happiness. Don’t get me wrong, I love to learn and develop myself as it gives me a sense of independence. Learning new knowledge and skills provides the surety of knowing that if I want to do something I don’t need to rely on anyone else to do it, I can just do it myself. That’s an amazing feeling and I will still up-skill myself in whatever and whenever I can.

In high school I already knew that I wanted to start my own business. Be my own boss. Work on my own terms. However, things didn’t pan out the way I wanted. Somewhere along the lines of having studied at a great university and finding my feet out there in the real world, I lost my way. I forgot about my dream. I lost my vision.

I drifted from job to job trying to find my place. When I felt that it wasn’t the right place for me, I would study a different course in a different field, get a job again and find myself back at square one. I just could not find myself in the workplace. No matter which office environment I found myself in, I was always deeply unhappy. I felt as though I was being ripped away from my independence, and that my fate was in the hands of a company that didn’t care about me or my well-being. I often thought that maybe I was just not cut out for working…but then what would I do with my life? How would I survive in this world?

By the age of 30 I found myself stuck in yet another office job that I hated, working on someone else’s time, not feeling a sense of fulfillment, and not even being able to repay my parents financially for all their hard labour in getting me through life. This means that I am forced to watch them struggle to get by when they should be planning their retirement. I became so frustrated.

Working in an office environment also feels very unnatural to me, and when I see stats about how depression and anxiety are prevalent in today’s society, it doesn’t surprise me. I feel that humans weren’t meant to be stuck in an environment with very little air circulation, no sunlight, seated and staring at a screen for hours on end. What I desired was freedom. The freedom to work on my own time, and do the work I cared about, while still being able to be “human”.  And still be able to live life, not just work all the time. It was during this time that I started chatting to an old friend of mine from high school, and she really opened my eyes to a lifestyle that gave me the freedom to decide my own destiny. A lifestyle that allows me to achieve my dream of running my own business, working on my own time and maintain my independence.

After a lot of consideration, I decided to finally take the plunge. I started working on my dream and started my own business. Wealthy Affiliate, helped me start my online business. I’m not saying that this has made me financially wealthy and that I’m living the high life, not at all. But I am happy. I have my own time, my own “rules” and the freedom to do it anywhere I please. I can do the things I love, I can spend time with the people I love. Having created my own work and life balance the way I desire it, is truly fulfilling.

Been there, done that

The more I think about it, the more unnatural the modern work environment seems. Why should people be trapped in a small enclosed space, seated for most of the day in front of a screen? The truth is that we don’t have to.

With the introduction of the internet comes a variety of opportunities. If you begin to follow your passion, you can find a way to monetize it. Some people find their passion early in their life, are able to pursue it and be happy for the remainder of their time here on earth. Other people only find it much later or even only when they reach retirement. But what is the point of that? By then, you may only have a couple more years to even enjoy your passion and then it’s too late.

I can introduce you to a way to monetize your passion, before there is no more time to really live and do the things you love. I was tired of trying to figure out what I wanted, tired of struggling to meet ends meet in a job that I didn’t enjoy, tired of being stuck.

Come to think of it, I was actually there early in life…knowing what I wanted…starting a business. But I never acted on it. I never pursued it. I was also there when I lost my dream, where I had forgotten what my passions were (as if I never knew in the first place).

It doesn’t have to be like that for you. You can change your life right now.

I want you to know that you can work and still enjoy your life. You can earn a living and still enjoy your life. You can achieve success (in whatever way that means to you) and still enjoy your life, still do what you love.

I’m not saying that it’s going to be easy. As I mentioned earlier, everything worth achieving in life is worth working for. It takes time, effort, labour, sweat and yes, sometimes even tears. But what if you can “work” without realizing that you are “working”. You wouldn’t feel the time. You would not feel the effort, the labour or the sweat. Why? because you would be doing what you love and enjoy. The only way you can love what you do, is to do what you love.

I want to help you get there. I am also still on my way in getting there fully. We can help each other get there.

Let’s “work” together

Let’s take this journey together. Let’s get back the spirit of helping each other instead of everyone just trying to make their way to the top. Let’s be happy in our lives and love what we do. Let’s live how we always envisioned ourselves to live and let’s make a difference in each others lives.

I hope that I can make a difference in your life, and I hope to hear some touching stories and insights from your side as well.

Please let me know if you have any questions, advice, or comments below and I will help where I can.

Enjoy the journey!

Best wishes,

Zasibel
